The so called castle is a rock which is traversed by numerous underground corridors and rooms, which today are mostly spilled or impassable. They served as living quarters, in Byzantine times also as monasteries. Many rooms are connected to each other by tunnels, passages and stairs. Originally, about 1000 people lived in the castle itself, today it is uninhabited. The fairy chimneys made of tufa stone are also typical of the region .
