It was in 2007. We decided to go there for 1 day trip from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. We scheduled 3 nights to stay in Victoria Falls but than realised that it was too long stay with nothing to do after we fully enjoyed the falls within 1 day. So, we went to Chobe park with a local guide, who escorted us to the border between Zimbabwe and Botswana. We crossed the border easily and smoothly, and on Botswana side we were met by the local guide with good car (I don't remember its make or model) and he was very professional. We were well surprised with Botswana as a county in general. It seems to be one of the most civilised countries I've seen in Sub Saharan Africa. But I have to admit that in fact we did not see much of the country, just mostly Chobe Park. I've been to Tanzanian and Kenyan parks so I can compare their parks with Chobe and Chobe was really good. Within half a day we could see lions, elephants who crossed the road so very close to us, cheetahs, crocodiles, hippos and many other types of animals. I do not remember how much we paid, I think that was around USD 100-150 per person, may be less, and we were a group of 7 people. That cost also included very good buffet lunch in a 5 start quality hotel. So, if you are planning to see Victoria Falls you can combine your trip with visiting Chobe Park.
