Lykkesholm is an old main farm , which is mentioned for the first time in 1329 and called Magelund, but named Lykkesholm from 1380. The castle had its roots of royalty in 1391 , when for a short period it was owned by Queen Margrete I.
The castle is located about 3 km southwest of the Funen town of Ørbæk and approx. 21 km southeast of Odense in Ellested Sogn, Vindinge Herred , Nyborg Municipality. The main building was built in 1600 by Domenicus Badiaz and rebuilt in 1668 - 1784 - 1786. The property is called Lykkesholm Castle and today is a hotel.
