The church was built in 1865 and is one of the oldest objects of wooden architecture in Druskininkai. It was erected on the cost of the Deputy Governor of Grodno Yakov Roznov.
The silhouette of the church shows the obvious features of Russian Orthodox churches and details characteristic of the periods of romanticism and historicism, unique and exceptional architectural forms.
Since 1895 a school was established near the church. During the USSR in 1947 an officially registered parish was established with 350 members. In 1957 and 1978 the church was repaired.
