The water went to a distance of about 0,5 -1 km far from the coast. So, it was very unusual for us. People were walking on the sea bottom far away. We also saw underwater plantations of some herbs/algae and local women taking care of the these plants. I was told that the harvest is used in cosmetic industry. To see that underwater fields just in front of your hotel was also quite impressive (you can see that plantations in one of my photo). The beach and hotel territory were guarded by maasai in their authentic dress. But actually they do not permanently live on Zanzibar. They are just employed by local hotels to bring more exotic to foreign tourist. You can see them on my photos. As I understood they are also bringing all their wives there.
