Dahshur[transliteration 1] (in English often called Dashur; Egyptian Arabic: دهشور Dahšūr pronounced [dɑhˈʃuːɾ]) is a royal necropolis located in the desert on the west bank of the Nile approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) south of Cairo.
