Its construction began in 1975 after previous extensive historical and ethnographic research in 226 localities in the region. The purpose of the exhibition is to document and preserve the construction skills of ancestors, the development of the floor plan of the house, the development of heating equipment for living rooms and the construction techniques and materials used. By relocating buildings from different parts of the region, a complex of residential and seasonal dwellings was created, supplemented by technical equipment (mills, sawmills, stupas), sacral buildings (churches, bell tower, chapel) and general benefit buildings (furman pub with carriage, blacksmith workshop, fire station). armory, school). In an effort to preserve the authenticity of traditional settlements, clusters of residential and farm buildings are complemented by fencing and small farm buildings characteristic of individual parts of the region.
