The Kozjak Waterfall is one of the biggest attractions in Kobarid area. It is part of the Kobarid historical trail, which includes the Kobarid Museum, the Italian Charnel House, the Tonocov Castle ruins, the Soča Gorge and other sights. Kozjak Waterfall or Veliki Kozjak (Great Kozjak) is the highest waterfall on the Kozjak stream. It is 15 meters high. Stream flows through several rock troughs. It falls into six waterfalls, and only the Kozjak and Mali Kozjak waterfalls are the easiest access to the visitors. There are no arranged routes to the first four waterfalls. The stream flows into the river Soča at Kobarid. The Kozjak waterfall can be accessed from the road Kobarid - Drežnica. A few meters after the intersection of Napoleon's bridge to Drežnica is the turning point for Kozjak Waterfall. There is also a large parking area. Signs will take you along an organized path across meadows and through the forest. Towards the end, the footpath leads you over the stone bridge, which is from 1895. From this bridge you can see a small waterfall, Mali Kozjak. It's about eight meters high. From here it is only about 5 minutes to the Kozjak waterfall. At the end of the path you go over wooden footbridges and then get to the place. The picturesque waterfall is hidden in steep walls, below it is a pool of beautiful blue-green color. It is possible to swim here, but the water is really cold.
